"Adam will you read me a story?"
I love having another reader in the house. Every time Adam brings home new books from school he sits in the big brown chair with Matthew and reads him story after story. It is their favorite little time together.
The Basement Begins...
We have the most delightful bathroom in our basement. It is gigantic and has an enormous whirlpool tub. There is room enough for the whole family to take a dip in it. When we moved in we thought it would be a fun addition to our lives but began exploring just a touch before we bathed. Much to our surprise located just about the tub and several inches to the left of the hook that hold the shower head is our main circuit breaker box. Yes, not a niffty shelf for shampoo or soap or even a small closet for towels, but rather the mother-load of all electrical comings and goings for the home. What a welcome friend to find lurking behind the curtain in my shower. It was so carefully concealed behind a small little curtain when we moved in and not remotely disclosed upon our purchase of the home. We were ever so delighted. So we have begun... the remodel. We have big plans for this luxury tub, but we intend for the pool party to be located just a but further from "Warning - High Voltage. Warn Children of Risk of Death from Electric Shock."
Happy Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is one of my very if not very favorite holidays. I love it from top to bottom. This year I decided to give Jonathan an ultra huge valentine. We have had snow covering the ground for months and I decided to take advantage of it. I went outside in the middle of the night and spray painted the snow with a huge Valentine message for him. I was so excited! He always leaves really early on Sunday mornings for church and He would get a really big Valentine. I was tempted to run inside to grab my camera and see if I could pick up the message with the flash during the night but figured I would take a picture in the morning. My hands were FROZEN and were starting to hurt so I went to bed. Much to my dismay in the few hours of sleep from execution to Jonathan leaving just enough new snow had fallen to cover up my message. I was so bummed!!!! Maybe next year. We had to settle for our traditional raspberry cinnamon french toast (which is the best recipe to exist among mankind) and lots of hugs and kisses.

Happy Birthday To You!!
Mr. Amazing Matthew celebrated his big number four birthday on Saturday. We spent the morning at Jumping Jim's Jungle with the McQuivey clan. They have three boys as well. The boys jumped, ran, tagged, tumbled, and bounced at least 15 large pepperoni pizzas worth of calories out of themselves. It was a blast. Lunch was a quick jont away from the Jungle to Burger King with all 6 boys. I had two women stop me and ask if all of the boys were mine. They couldn't believe how I must have felt to be so outnumbered. I assured them that only half of the crew was mine and only if dreams come true will I be the mother of a basketball team plus one sub. They couldn't tell if I was serious or not. After lunch we went back to Jumping Jim's and jumped until poor little Matthew was so tired he couldn't take it any longer. We packed up, said good-bye to the McQuivey's and headed for home. After naps we celebrated with dinner, a Bulldozer cake, and presents.
For weeks Matthew has been asking for a real crab for this birthday. I was feeling hesitant at first but I finally decided to break down and get the kid a hermit crab. I could never have imagined what a hit a wee little crab could be. Crabby is the joy of Matthew's life. He has never been so happy about anything that has ever happened to him in his four years of life. It was fun to see how happy a small crab could make one little boy.
